On a remote island in the Adriatic, the playboy son of a president hosts a spectacular entertainment to satisfy the jaded appetites of the super rich. And for one young family, the holiday of a lifetime is about to become a desperate battle for survival.
As teenage parents Sam and Jody managed to defy the odds once before, striving to raise their children in a settled home. But the years of struggle have taken their toll, and Sam’s worst demons return to haunt him at the worst possible time. Can he and Jody put their differences aside and work under intolerable pressure to save the lives of their children?
What did I think?
Think ‘The Hunger Games’ crossed with ‘Castaway’ – David Tate has written the perfect crossover between the two and I personally feel that Tourist Trap is solid grounds for a good cliffhanging thriller.
I loved this book! I literally could not put it down and Tate managed to keep me well and truly hooked. I really feel that Tate has done such a fantastic job for his first novel. For a self-published author, Tate has shown so much promise and I am extremely eager to read any upcoming novels that Tate writes/published in the future.
My only ‘negative’ comment on this book is the way that it ended. Whilst the ending was what we all hoped for, I think Tate had left a few open endings – my hopes is for a future book to explain the parts which hadn’t quite been covered. We’ll see!
I go on holiday (yippee!) on Monday 12th October…so in hindsight it probably wasn’t one of my best ideas to read this before I go!
My Rating? ♥♥♥♥♥
Will you be adding this to your TBR pile?
