What if your worst enemy found out your darkest secret?

At 2 a.m. on the morning of her 40th birthday, Sophie wakes to find an intruder in her bedroom. The intruder hands Sophie a letter and issues a threat: open the letter at her party that evening, in front of family and friends, at exactly 8 p.m., or those she loves will be in grave danger.

What can the letter possibly contain?

This will be no ordinary party; Sophie is not the only person keeping a secret about the evening ahead. When the clock strikes eight, the course of several people’s lives will be altered forever.

What did I think?

Firstly, the hype around You Sent Me A Letter is incredible…and the marketing strategy for the ARC copies was brilliant! I received a ‘wedding invite’ which had me completely puzzled and ringing family to see if I knew anyone called Sophie Gardener or Marc Turner…I felt like a complete idiot when I realised it was for the book (which I received a few days later)! Needless to say, it definitely got me wanting to push it to the top of my reading pile. Corvus and Lucy Dawson have definitely got the anticipation of a lot of readers out there and rightly so.

I loved how Dawson managed to keep me guessing for a majority of the book. You Sent Me A Letter is definitely a page turner and one you cannot miss. It is a relatively quick read too, but the amount of quality content is impressive. I couldn’t wait to see Sophie’s fate and got nervous for her.

The ending was mildly frustrating…good, but there was a lot left for you to wonder about. Dawson is definitely a clever writer and I would love to read more of her books. You Sent Me A Letter definitely lived up to the hype for me, the only reason it’s not five hearts is because of the ending!

My Rating? ♥♥♥♥

Will you be adding this to your TBR pile?

      1. The ending of the book- was really disappointing. Up to the last three chapters: it was quite gripping.
